I've just noticed that the little black curves bit over the tail pipes is missing. Do these just fall off or are they fixed on strong enough for to be it pulled off?? What are the chances of getting it replaced? I can't see it serves any purpose other than finishing off the grille nicely.

Fall off as the bonding weakens with the heat. I heard they are rare as rocking horse crap to get hold of. Had to re bond mine recently but I don't hold out too much hope.

Most fall off with time Chris. It is pretty much a clam off job if you buy the whole grill section again, unless you're Nelly ;)

Have a word with (or have a gander at) techieboy's. He's replaced his with a piece of rubber tubing and it looks good. The shield does stop your numberplate melting!

I've got mine in the garage. It came with the car, apparently it was knocked off when a garage fitted the exhaust. Phil

Bit basic really As you now have bare edge on the grill stuff Just get some tube about 1 cm diameter Stanly knife a slit the full length and slip it over the Grill ends

Thanks Chris, so simple enough then - do you use some appropriate sticky stuff to hold it on?

I'm planning the black rubber tube mod as my first DIY job on the vx. Start easy and all that :)

I used some high temperature silicon sealant think mine was clear but black gasket grunge or anything should hold it. To be fair if it's good thick wall tube you will have a job holding the slit open to get it on 😊
