Did this yesterday as I'd never realised before probably because I'd never taken the OS 'ear' off... quite how big the gap between the chassis side and the IC was :o

There must be at least 40% of the air that should be being forced into the IC going through there and a great big gap at the top, oddly they decided to fill the clam side with a strip of foam but not bother with the rest!

I took it apart again today as I had the time and re-did what I quickly did yesterday properly this time!

Using some left over Nimbus and a roll of weatherproof tape I've now got ALL the air into the ear focused on the IC with no losses.

This is a very cheap and very easy DIY for any VXT owner with an IC and I think its an absolute must considering the gains to be had from better performance from the IC :)

Very cr@p pics as camera phone in poor light but you'll get the idea!!!

That's what I was thinking. The plastic OE ducting was missing then?

There was no plastic OE ducting on mine - maybe as the CC pipes go through there it had been taken out so they could fit? As said never had the 'ear' off so didn't know about the plastic! massive gap in mine fixed then anyway!!!

Your ic isnt stock. It probably wont fit it. I was shocked you could make that power with a stock ic inline...the intake tube at the bottom is a large choke on the system. That said you have got the lip the ducting would attach to.

They are both the same thing, ie an aftercooler.

Only fitted that IC yesterday! Before had the TMS charge cooler system with stock IC - always made very good power but wanted more ability to bring the intake temps down fast! :)

About 1.5' above sensor before IC, maxing yesterday at no more than 24' when at full boost and backing down to 18' fast :)

Hmmm, this has got me thinking now, as I don't remember any plastic shroud near my intercooler either.
