Well the time has come to part ways with my shed, a 1995, BMW 518i Manual. A quick run down of the stats. The old girl hasn't let me down in the last 18 months.
The vitals
- 1995
- 157000 miles
- Grey/Blue
- Alloy wheels
- Leather interior
- Manual
- MOT to April 2013
- Tax to July 2012
Just had MOT (April), which it failed miserably, however all points addressed (at great expense) as per the below and has now passed
- New front tyres
- Rear suspension mount point on body required welding
- New discs and pads at the rear (going to be replacing the front pads before sale also)
- New o/s front shock absorber
The other good points
- Rear tyres covered around 6000 still in excellent nick
- Electronic leather interior
- Excellent mechanical order
- Enormous boot
- Replaced Gearbox and Dif oil recently
The bad stuff
- Dent in the n/s sill (caused by jack (at a guess) prior to my ownership)
- A few small dents and scratches as you would expect from a car of the age
- A little bit of rust (worst is on the o/s rear wing around the fuel filler flap which is apparently quite common)
- Tax expires end June
