As a Spa virgin it was great to get this track under my belt and to meet Bargi and WhiteStuff who are both top blokes! Due to two different car problems I didn't get anything like the amount of track time I'd have liked, however I did get some decent laps in and returned home all safe :) so I'm thankful for that and also the help you guys gave to my panicked questions. Luckily I found a good Opel dealer (shock horror) to limp to who sorted it. I'll post a separate thread on what put the kybosh on my track time. The mechanic was a legend who was really passionate about sports cars, he restores them. He'd never worked on a VX/elise before but did a great job. They are called Opel Eupen, 25 mins from Spa, and he is Sascha if you're ever at Spa and need VX help, he is a good guy. I warned him he may get visits from VXs now. Here is a lap, I was starting to get a bit more confident in places but lacked the track time (and the talent) to start to get to grips with a decent line on Eau Rouge. Next time heh. And next time I will site the camera in a better place so the ridiculous mirror doesn't get in the way!

Ha ha, love it!! Your best lap involved so much conversation and laughing, even some eye scratching, nice to see someone just chilling and enjoying it rather than caning it chasing tenths!!! Suppose that's Raymondo's chilled out nature rubbing off on you :lol:lad you guys had a nice time. Lisa, Noah and myself are in Belgium with work and were going to head over to say hello but I'm super busy!!!! You're not at the national are you dave?

Blimey, what a nice big track with some great bends. Rather a lot of armco close to the bends though  .

Surely the euro trip is to spa next year. I can't stomach Le Mans again. Good video by the way dave, maybe a slightly straighter camera next time :D

The reason we were laughing at the start is Dave gave me sh*t when he noticed my foot twitch when we were barrelling into La Source :D Very smooth and well surprised with the Kumhos and how well the handled. Spa is fantastic, massive track with lots of run off that flows beautifully and at a good 4 miles long you're doing about 1litre of fuel per lap! First time for me was LOT in March and while not cheap, given the distance from the UK when you do the Man Maths it makes sense to do a 2 day TD, def gets my vote for Eurotrip next year. Was a great trip, didn't rain too much, met lots of good people and we all got a nuts rides in supercharged Atoms (Techie your SC whine has nothing on these puppies!)

It's not that simple, but sod it I'm desperate to do Spa!! We'll just have to pay through the nose for it!! As long as I don't get the blame if it rains!!!!!

I got so much sh*t ages years back for organising a couple of Silverstone GP days that both got washed out, I've just played it safe since!!!

It doesn't seem to matter what time of year you go, the weather is so unpredictable. I'd say that I've had more 'wet' days here than dry. Still epic though.

even the fuel onsite was competitive with outside filling stations. there are some fantastic roads if you get off the autoroute and head in via Huy, to Stavelot on the N66. Stavelot allows you to use the much quicker back entrance for high vehicles. Accomodation in the area and Malmedy is much more reasonable than Spa. ( group accomodation )
