Lost a bit of weight .........just over 2kg ! Will post after next remap to see what it has done. Good news is it should cost less to post back.

I had my OEM flywheel lightened by a German tuner. Went from ~9.5 kg to about 5.8kg.

Milled, drilled and fine balanced:

You have to think when pulling away, car no longer lurches forward regardless of revs when clutch released.

Yea the flywheel will reduce its speed rapidly as there is no weight to keep it rotating as long. Not a peoblem on the road but on a track the sudden weight transfer firward when lifting off may cause some issues if you dont learn to reduce the effect, toe and heeling for example.

I don't think you get any extra power do u ???????
Just gets the engine spinning up quicker
and also the car now weighs less.

Lightening the engine's rotating past is a really good idea, makes the car feel a lot racier. However, you do have to be a bit careful as in mine I have lighter con-rods as well and as a result it is very hard for the MOT man to hold the revs steady to take an emissions reading. Just something to bear in mind.

i got lightweight flywheel, not sure if conrods/pistons are lighter  , all lightweight pulleys, balance shaft delete, balance chain delete, water pump delete revs like a motorbike :tt: hence the need to absolutely learn heel and toe but it definately makes alot of difference not alot of vibration at idle either which is suprising, cant say i had a problem with mot though maybe different for tubby cars
