Having sold my stage 2 VXT a couple of years ago to fund a house purchase I am finally about ready to look for a replacement. Initially I was looking for something with a similar spec to my previous car or a higher state of tune but the supercharger conversion really appeals having had a pax ride in one recently. I just wondered how achievable 240-250bhp was and is it a reliable modification? It would appear many on here have supercharged their cars so hopefully lots of experience here. Thanks in advance.

Given its a 2.2, 240bhp is only 109bhp/litre which isnt ultra stressful. Im hoping that they are super reliable (and by all acounts they are!), as my old VXT sureasshit wasnt! :P

I had a conversation with Lee the other day about this. His sc is 300 odd BHP and running an Eaton charger. He blats the hell out of his.....and there was I wondering about mine running 249bhp.....

Can't tell is the answer. There are approx 200 that have been done, all are slilghtly different to one another. Most will likely be driven harder than than normal NAs. What we do know is that they aren't all instantly breaking.

Ive had mine done for ages now and since gettin it to 300bhp ive never had a murmer with it. I did have a problem with the a valve which killed my engine but it was a component which wasnt designed propperly, since then they have redesigned the part so it wont happen again. Other than that a long as you keep them serviced just like any car thy will run for a good long while.

Not strictly true. I happen to know my rev limit is 7200rpm but every time I've had it dyno'd I tell them to stop at 6900-7000rpm.

They listen. It's just me that has problems, as I'm always bouncing it off the limiter. :beat:
