You could use one per cylinder and stack em up itno something that resembles the OE manifold. That will flow loads better but I suspect the surface area will be less than the laminova so the cooling will be less.

The air goes off on a joy ride through tubes. No reason it couldn't do the same on an sc.

hmm what about size - pipe diamether, core size etc? on a turbo and how much extra heat does sc make when compared to tc of same output?

Believe it or not the inlet to the ic is 2" on the tubby. Sad but true.

Wonder what ZZP are up to with this (ignore the ARB)

Looks about M62/TVS-1320 sized and the bolt hole positions on the inlet flange look Ecotec'ish.

Waha. Have to look this up, but seeing this layout it will have a striking resemblence to that 2,2 with the sidemounted M90 that was ages for sale! (Was looking into a "sidemounted" SC, but our oil filter is in the way. With that "relocated" (= major surgery) and the alternator repositioned, you get lots of space to mount this sort of thing. NICE! ) Lower COG as a bonus... Edit; is that on their facebook page maybe? Which I cannot see...

Ermm, possibly. It came through on the Twitter feed that I had set up for their Black Friday sale. M90 is another possibility, I guess. https://twitter.com/ZZPerformance

Ah, found a pic of that Z22SE engine with the M90 sidewinder:

Apparently this was fitted into a Speedster/VX220, but that would be a very tight squeeze...
You can just see the oil filter here that he had to work around. If you relocate that this would be very feasible.
400HP TVS and a lower CoG? rallly

M90 is my plan but with a shorter snout and mounted at sump level. Need to mock up first but I was planning on the plenum being the mount (new casting) and feeding into a saab turbo manifold via a tubby CC system. Just bidding on an M90 on fleabay now.

If ever there was a case for a remote oil filter, that engine and SC combo is it. M90's are sooo cheap, just rare to find one of the generation V versions. :( Bugger. That picture has also reminded me I wanted to order an engine stand for use over Christmas. :beat:

That's also key. So many different snout options out there and also the throttle body endplate end as well.

The M90 is an even older design than our M62's that do not handle boostpressure well. Cheap, but for all the trouble I would go TVS.
(ps.; if you want out-of-the box thinking, look maybe into a Mazda Millenia charger?)

But I just found a very good reason to plan some butchery on an empty engine casing I happen to have standing here.

I dunno why one of you doesn't ring up Pro-Alloy, take a standard engine in with the supercharger you want to mount and ask them to fab up the inlet manifold inbetween. Their prices on bespoke work are quite good. Or alternatively, do the same with Dave Hardwick.

Thanks Lee. What you need to bear in mind is that it's me we're talking about. So, based on the fact the engine has been sat in the garage for 18 months without me touching it (apart from whipping the tensioner out for Jimmy's Cadwell TA adventure), it might not be the quickest turnaround you've ever seen.

Oh, has anyone tried Dave Hardwick? He's very capable.
