Hello I am looking for the fitting instructions of the original luggage rack for the VX220. One is for sale on Ebay but without those instructions. Could you let me know if you have one you can scan? (even in German, French...) Many thanks, that will be highly appreciated. Bernard

:oI genuinely thought the luggage rack was a wind up. Like the ski flap kit that used to be on there.

Write off rear clam by drilling lots of holes in it. Then screw in big fat permanent alloy brackets. Clip in/out luggage rack as needed. Simples.

Step 1. throw it in the bin Step 2. leave it there In all seriousness, i know of someone designing their own which will involve just mounting to the boot lid (no clam drilling) which is much cheaper as lids can be had for approx. £70. Let me know if you are interested and I can put you in touch.

1. Buy luggage rack. 2. Offer it up to car. 3. Stand back and look at it. 4. Realise it looks awful, really awful and stick it back on eBay. 5. Tell the Mrs she can only pack one pair of shoes.

Ah . . The tale of the EBay luggage rack that didn't sell at £60 but now has 2 bids currently at £200? Cuz the seller mysteriously got hold of the missing brackets at the same time a generous member was offering them for free. . . ? Fezz I was thinking of modifying my spare engine cover to a rack (now have High raised Sprint style boot lid) no way would I want to drill the clam when I could swap engine cover using 6 existing hinge screws. If you've got anymore details on the other guys rack set up that would be helpful.

MGB's and Spitfires look cool with luggage racks. Morgans are fcuking awful but even they pull off a luggage rack, the VX does not!

Thanks to all for feedback and your sense of humor... Finally I did not buy the one on eBay but I will still be interested by alternatives (such as the one mentioned by Fezzasus. Could you give me their contacts? Many thanks!

I reckon you could get a roof rack attached to a hard-top and then get a roof box on there. Are there not roof bars that just hook under a lip of some sort?
