Ok, 24hrs in and I now know my wiper blade is buggered. I have Valeo and Bosch flat blades on other cars and really rate them. Is there anything peculiar about the VX220's blade? Mine is a 2005 car, would there be any benefit in going for an arm from a later Lotus? If so, which one and what is the difference? Sorry if the answer is obvious, I have done a search but there seems to be conflicting info in terms of blade length, and alternate Lotus wiper arms. TIA.

So do greasy looking streaks and poor visibility at the first sign of rain mean I need a new blade, need to decrease the screen of rain x or whatever else was on it or that I have the original style arm and that's normal with those...

Ye mine streaked and was greasy. Cleaned the screen and the blade all the time, figured it was the fluid or another joy if owning a VX. Should have used my head as new blade fixed it.

I've got this: http://www.elisepart...jetwash-system/

Works a treat, helps to have the spray in the arm, you get a better clean on your screen, a pian in the ass to change the blade tho, but well worth the hassle.

Ok, thanks all, I am going to try a 24" flat blade, and if still crap then I will change the arm.

Hi Ralph, Add a Citreon BX spray bar for £17, will do a similar job of keeping your washer fluid on the screen rather than over the roof. I have Traci flat blades on all my cars.....£7 a time, so just change them annually.

Why a 22 inch rather than a 24?

Thats the best fit with the curved blade, also the curved blade hugs the screen much better thumbsup

Another vote here. Plus because of the silicone blade you don't even need to use it over 60 :P

If you have a hook type arm you can get a 24" blade with a spray bar fitted from Your local motor factor , a couple of quid for some washer jet pipe ,few small cable ties,...... hey presto same as the Elise parts jobby for a fraction of the cost :-) The blades I used are fitted to the Vauxhall Movano ;-)

just using a generic flat blade from ebay, works fine, probably 22" would be better if you have a screen sunstrip

Worked really well. Plastic clip keeps coming open while the wiper is one and then the wiper comes off. Superb! -_-

Need to sort it tomorrow.
