Hi Guys, well I’ve been on the VX220 turbo Palmersport day and I think that I can speak for all the other guests and say that the day is truly excellent. The facilities are very good and the staff and instructors were totally spot on. The day far exceeded my expectations. I think Vauxhall did themselves some serious credit when they chose these guys for this event. For all you complete nutters the day isn’t just flying round a track in a VXT, in fact you get about 45 mins on track time in total. However there are numerous other events that you perform in the VX and other Vauxhall cars, some more interesting than others but still good fun. By the time we got to the track the rain had fallen and so our first run was on a very greasy track. Ok this meant that track speed was down on dry conditions but you learned a hell of a lot about the VXT and its limits. Our second run was the driest and the times were falling between 10-20 secs per lap. For the third run the rain had fallen again and so there was no way to beat your previous times. This was the best run of the day for me as my instructor was up for some fun. What did this mean??? Well as the cars have dual brake controls the instructor can apply or even REMOVE the brake from the driver at any time. The result…..some very impressive spins. Together with myself burying the throttle at these opportunities a lot of noise and smoke was also produced. The best one being directly outside the pits in full view of the next waiting group. This one also showed the tremendous skill of the instructor I was with, not only had he created a spin upon his timing whilst we were spinning he was moving the steering wheel to maximise the spin (twice round…I think!) and when we were straightening up instructed me to dip the clutch, HE then smashed the box into second and all you hear is “BURY IT”. I did and what do you know…..we were on our merry way in the right direction even managing a shaky wave to the on lookers! I take my hat off to him…but not til I was out of the car!! I just hope you other guys enjoy it as much as I did and Wayne if you have any other spare days or dropouts I’d gladly go back at a moments notice. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

There is no doubt about it YOU MUST TRY the Palmer Motorsports day. You would be mad not to! I endorse the above, it was well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive to get there. A great day out AND THE RAIN well it only made it more fun. Thanks to to all the guys and girls who were there, a friendly bunch who enjoyed a laugh. Especially those who took me the wrong way round the 4 x 4 course, blindfolded! The looks we got driving through Bedford town center VX's nose to tail, a rare site down South. cheers
