French Frolic = Cliquey

Sounds like a great craic by all accounts but, it always strikes me as very much a closed shop until the regulars have bagged their spots each year.

do we ever mingle with the lotus lot in the evenings at Le Mans ?
You mean you don't make the effort? Why not?
Many of the Lot crowd were good company 4 years ago but have to admit I don't recognise 99% of the names currently on the list

Yes, that chap with the green Elise and a cooler full of stubby beers was made to feel very welcome!!

I've found most of the Lot guys and girls to be pretty frendly nowadays, if anything, I would think we were an imposing bunch at Le Mans, as a Lotus owner is going to have to have some character to want to join 30 plus vx owners mid pint or two.
I know vx'ers whove done the French frolic and were more than welcome, but as said, I think those events (much like Le Mans with us) are booked up by regulars.

I agree… most of my track days are with LOT, and on 99.9 percent of the time they are an amicable bunch. However, a shadow was cast over this one time at Bedford, where lotus driver came over after a secession on track intent on an argument, aimed basically at me as a driver of a VX….well F**k him, if he could not pass me

never saw him again.
At Le Mans this year both my wife, and myself found them a toughly good bunch, very welcoming, and no problems joining in their conversations and groups, at meal/drinks times at the hotel…never felt at all the poor relative.
The lad in the green Elise, was interesting, had all of his expenditure figured out to the last penny, including bringing his electric kettle to save on beverage purchases.
Not only that, he was a good little driver, as I found out in my passenger ride with him.
The gent with the Evora was well worth striking up a conversation with as well.
Apparently the French frolic is highly popular and places are snapped up as soon as the event is opened for booking. I would go, at a drop of a hat, except that convincing the wife to come for that period of time is probably the most insurmountable hurdle.
