So we've had Naomi's Civic Type R (Breadvan) for about a year now, and it's due an MOT and a service. Will be giving the local Honda dealer a call, but would rather find a decent Honda or JAP Specialist instead. At least to do the servicing - bonus if they will do the MOT as well. Happy for it to be non specialist if anyone can recommend a general garage that would be capable of doing the work, and look reputable on the service log book. Anyone got any ideas? G

I always travel up from Essex to Fleet in Hampshire to get my Integra Type R serviced by TGM Motorsport. They are a Type R specialist and have been racing them for years. They have a great reputation amoungst the Honda community and a bonus is that they are a lot cheaper than Honda. Think they are only an hour from Beds. www.tgmsport.co.uk/

I struggled to find one, I just used Bedford Honda where my mate works, he knows his stuff. Plus its a main dealer stamp in the service book!

Thanks. Had heard of TGM, but in reality it's just too far. I take the VX an hour or so up the road to DuncanVXR, and my Saab an hour and a half to Nottingham to my specialist and as this is the g/f's car I want some where local - the reason we bought a CTR was she hates spending money on cars ( i do that for the both of us) and it should be a hassle free ownership. That's why it's a Honda not a Megane R sport on the drive...

Bedford Honda gave a good quote, but couldn't fit the MOT in as well until the end of the month, which is cutting it a bit fine. So got local Dunstable Honda to get within £35 of their price, and can do it next week. Will even pop round and pick the car up from me. So much though I'm normally a fan of specialists, it looks like this time the car will be going to the local Honda main stealer.

Fingers crossed they don't try any funny business...
