Hi All, question for those of you who have the ctek 5.0.
Got mine a couple of weeks ago, battery was as flat as a pancake before so not really hopeful...
- plugged into the cig lighter, left it on for a few hours and all I get it a flashing green power light,
- just tried the cig lighter on my dad's merc today and same thing, flashing green power light (perhaps merc cig lighter isn't a permanent live feed like the vx?)...
- then connected it to merc battery direct and it started charging ...
- tried on the VX direct to the battery without cig lighter adapter, still flashing green light
I'm guessing the battery is beyond repair...presume I go halfords and pick one up? Did a search and it mentions 063 size/type whatever that means...
silly/stupid question incoming - I assume it will it be fine to buy and then just stick on the ctek charger without actually putting it into the VX. Not planning on driving the VX anytime soon other than turn it over now and again (suspension refresh over Jan-March), so I'm not going to kill/waste a perfectly good battery if I buy now and don't get round to putting it in the vx as long as keep it connected upto the ctek charger?
What is the longest time you have left it connected to the VX?? only ask as I had a flat battery when I got mine (not sure of the model) and it took over 24 hours for the green light to stop flashing

via the cig lighter i left it on the flashing green light for a few days...got nothing...now i've left it connected direct to the battery, so its only been on a couple of hours yet, so i'll see what the status is tomorrow...fingers crossed!

If you have a battery that is nearly dead it should only take a few hours for a complete recharge. That don't sound good with the cigarrette lighter as it should have charged it. Have you checked that the lighter actually works? I plugged mine in and had nothing for a few hours. Turned out it was the fuse located in the boot.
