Had a blow in my exhaust for about a year now, but its only mild and hasn't got worse. Asked Vauxhall to take a look when it went in for its service/mot yesterday and they cam back saying "Slight blow front flexi (part of cat)" Could someone here elaborate on what that is requires. Is it the pipe that goes to the pre-cat? Easy to fix or does it require a new bit? Did try and look at the online TIS but that looks like its only for the NA? Was thinking of going for the MMG Stage 1+, would that replace the bit thats broken? Also a bit of advice to other people. When you take your front clam off check your horn still works. Mine just failed the MOT on that. Looks like I might have knocked one of the wires off....doh  Might add a note about that to the guide :D Ah well Ive got the new towing bracket to fit so I can do that at the same time. Cheers

Not sure on the VX front specifically, but the flexi section on most exhaust is a braided section between the downpipe and the cat. It allows the engine to move, under load, whilst the rest of the exhaust stays still. My understanding is that they can only ever be replaced, but can't see it being a massively expensive (unless buying from Vauxhell).

Flexi's do fail. Its just a stainless coily tube in the middle that will fail if flexed enough times. You can either search for a secondhand section of buy a flexi (about 15-20 quid) and replace the flexi part. It does take a bit of work though to get it out. If you have the arms of mr tickle you can get at the horn with the clam on. I did mine like that.

Ended up taking the clam off any way over the weekend, as I had new front towing bracket to fit as well. Car now goes beep ;) I assume if I go for a Stage 1+ its something they can do at the same time?
