I have been looking for a good low entry jack for a while and just in case anyone else is looking for one, these have recently gone on sale.

It’s not as nice as the aluminium racing jack but has the same low entry height of 89mm.

Low entry Jack
http://www.sgs-engineering.com/tjl2-2-tonne-low-profile-trolley-jack £34.62 +P&P

Matching Axle stands
http://www.sgs-engineering.com/hydraulic-jacks/axle-stands/jsr2-axle-stands £19.99 + P&P

or the set

Just a note, but I find it's not just the height of the jack that is important. I have a low jack that would in theory work on the VX as it is low enough, however the centre of body of the jack rises up a lot which strikes/fouls the body such that the nose of the jack cannot reach deep enough to the correct jacking point on the side of the car.

:yeahthat: I find exactly this problem. I have been looking for a long nose super low entry jack (they have these at mitcheldever where I get my tyres done. Can't find them anywhere though :( F1 style jacking points anyone?!

This lot from Halfords, picked it up as I was looking for Axle stands and as it came with other stuff I thought it worth while http://www.halfords....55207&langId=-1 Altho I did only pay 50 for it as it was on offer at the time, still worth 60 as the jack fits and works well :)

Well i hope the jack does fit........ as i ordered it earlier :blush:If the halfords RAC one fits, this one should do. (fingers crossed)

Nev, you have some pretty meaty sideskirts which would make it more difficult.

Vxed, is your vx sitting very low?

Yeah it is not just how low they go but how long the reach is. Another factor is how low the car is.

I have one of these which has quite a good reach but is still not sufficient to jack from the most forward jacking point with 110 mm ground clearance..

http://www.sealey.co...uiredresults=16

I tend to use the rear jacking point only as this lifts the whole side (front and rear ) of the car off the ground.

Kind regards, Paul

As above, that won't work on a lowered car (even one lowered by 10mm like mine)

Costco were doing some very nice low level entry aluminium trolley jacks a while ago. Not sure if they still do them though...

I've got the cheaper SGS, really well made but slow to lift compared to the racing jack.
