I'm looking at getting the VXR turbo, so I email Autovaux enquiring about it. They do a trade in on your old unit and request 'can you please ensure the actuator and boost sensor are included and is dressed as per the new one'

Can anyone shed some light on what this means

The new one comes with the actuator and boost sensor , so they want your old " exchange unit " returning with all the bits on . Otherwise you will be probably charged extra ;-)

I guess it means ship the old turbo back with all of the necessary bits attached to it and all of the holes plugged with the bungs that come on the new turbo.

I used a VXL dealer in Wales for my exchange, was cheaper than Auto Vaux and they weren't arsed about it not having boost solenoids.

Steve as the weak point of this turbo is the bearing ,is it not worth going for the upgraded courtenay one?

The cut back blades would be even better. :poke:

Yup, contacted them after seeing the ad on ebay and did it direct.

ETA - looks like they have bumped it up by £20 since I bought it.

My trade never got anymore of the vxr turbo - well last one I got but did get free P&P

As stated take off old and fit new leaving unit complete

At the low cost of the turbo v's the upgrade option I would save the money or got for the full k06/k04 setup - from aet or whoever are offering them now

Cheers all. So a replacement will go straight onto a stage 2 without a re-map being needed?
