So I have full harnesses and a non airbag steering wheel. I am sick of the warning lamp on the dash and want it gone. I have heard about resistors going in for the seatbelts but what about the airbag? What do I need to do?

Either the two wires on the seatbelt need attention or the squib apparently

Have a look at this post, http://www.vx220.org...irbag +resistor covers the two option you have I think

remove airbag ecu, short the wire to the stack dash light to 0v/chassis for a moment, job done until next time you disconnect battery - when you might have to short the wire again.

Does that take into account the disconnected seatbelt per tensioners...? I was told a 3 ohm resistor the use opcom to configure your car as an old corsa or Astra that doesn't have airbags..... Didn't work though for me

no ecu to worry about pretensioners or airbags ;)

Wouldn't the easiest way be to measure the resistance across the airbag terminals. Buy an equiv resistor. Solder it between the squib contacts. 10 minutes work providing you have the resistor.

That would be the idea Nev. Squib gone but wiring still in place.

Vocky, are you telling me the tensioners have no influence over the airbag warning lamp at all?

if there is no airbag ecu then the seatbelt tensioners have no where to report to, thus no light

easiest method is to just ground the wire permanently.... that said I believe its an MOT fail for a road car.

if the steering wheel has the airbag removed it's a fail if the steering wheel is not designed for an airbag then it is a pass I asked my MOT guy

I added a 2.7ohm resistor to the squib (assume this is the bit that plugs into the airbag?) Then used op com to delete the light (just passed MOT and light hasn't come back on). As your squib is missing, maybe some way of soldering the resistor across the two wires? Assuming these wires are still in place.

but all that pointless weight from the Airbag ecu, resistor, wires etc...... just grounding the Cluster pin and removing the controllers could mean a few extra tenths

It's indeed around 2.7 - 2.8 Ohms accross the 2 wires, also for the airbag. You can check the needed value with OpCom.
