If I could have got the day off work I was set to be driving a new Radical there. Say hello to Anthony Dunn for me if you bump into him.

Blimey Steve, thats a big opportunity to miss :( Mind you, after 10 mins in a Radical, it would be hard to stay in love with a VX, so maybe its for the best !

You don't know the half of it mate. The deal was to drive to the Nurburgring on Monday for a private trackday in a new SR3 SL followed by a passenger lap around the ring with Michael Vergers (AKA the world record holder for a production car lap). After that it was off to Spa for Tues and Wed for more tuition in the Radical again. Unfortunately it was very short notice so I couldn't get the time off work :(

It's only a job Steve you will get another :D, if you get this kind of issue again in the future give us a call and will give myself time off work to go ;)

Would love a radical, had some fantastic laps over the years chasing them (when driven properly lol)

It was very reasonably priced too (for that sort of experience) and was a bit of an invite only thing so I couldn't offer it out to anyone else. My mate was coaching so there is no way someone could have got away with saying they were me either thumbsdown. Appartently it's something that will deffo happen again so if you are interested let me know and I will see if there is room for more than just me. I am a bit worried that I'd get rid of my VX a week later though and buy this; http://classifieds.p.../sr3/sr3/270885

Pointless unless you like spending 90% of your time on TDs looking at the exhaust pipes of the car in front.

I think if I bought a Radical I would get my ARDS license and start doing test days instead of track days. I do agree that taking a Radical to a track day is like taking a nuclear warhead to a knife fight.

how do you rate a track car? if it's by pure laptime that's one thing, if it's about fun, that's another.

I had a ride out in a modified SR3 once at Croft and we were belting through a corner at 70 mph that the VX could only do at around 40. What do you do when you are at full tilt and you catch up to someone mid corner? If you lift off, you spin. At least on a test day you can overtake wherever you like.

I don't know Croft, but even at 70mph, and the big aero on a SR3, it must be more down to mechanical grip , was that on slicks?

Yup it had full slicks, high downforce pack and was 400kg. Proper mental.
