Dropped by at Jonnyboy's place to get it fitted, here is the result:

Sorry for the poor picture quality, took it on my phone.

Overall I am really impressed, it looks fantastic, is actually quieter than the soft top and once I get the windows adjusted looks a hell of a lot more watertight than the soft top. Big thanks go out to Jonnyboy.

I am thinking this may be a permanent thing and the soft top will get forgotten about...

Looks good. How much do you need to adjust on the windows?

Nice to meet you today :)

Likewise, thanks for fitting the lid as my parents are referring to it.

Well I am fairly sure my window configuration is ruined but looking at it there is sizeable gap on both windows near the front of the car, but as there is a sort of lip that overhands the seals it may not actually let any water in. I may just pour some water on it tomorrow morning and see what happens. Will post results here :D

Thanks, yeah I agree, it looks more like a supercar to me than with the soft top on. Changes it from a leisure car to something that means business. Also slightly more secure.

Can't wait to get mine back from the paints hop. Spraying it from silver to black. IMO I agree with you and it totally transforms the VX in looks etc.

Everyone who has seen my car with the soft top and now the hard top says it looks better with the hard top. Off to psr lotus today to get some new rear tyres, get geometry done and adjust the windows.

My windows had a gap, but it never lets water in so I never bothered to adjust them.

It has let a few drops in which is miles better than my soft top ever was! If I can stop that and reduce a bit of the wind noise (I have a gap of around 5mm in one section) then I will be a happy camper.

My pax has a small gap at the top. I've solved this by putting an edging strip on the top of the window itself. Jobs a good un and it saves faffing around with window seals when i go back to the soft top in the spring.

Personal preferences, but I loathed mine with the hardtop on. Boomier inside, stayed colder for longer, not so quick/easy to whip off when the weather was good enough etc. with a properly looked after soft top they are no leaker than the ht.

So do OEM Hardtops look any different? Curious, as my new VX has that style of roof (with the central recession), and wondering if mine is an ex-Jonny customer. Looks OEM interior fabric wise, but unsure externally.
