So I’ve had VX Mk.3 for nearly a year now and its coming along as I planned (which is bloody surprising!!) and as I wanted. As I bought it in January 2012:

One of the first things I did was get an interior refresh courtesy from Dave the Trimmer, plus some black anodising. Before shot:

In September I started work on supercharging it. Should thank all the work done by members detailing exactly how to go about the DIY fitment. Specifically, smileys 2 day SC thread and chris_uks detailed supercharger build thread have been ultra useful, so hats off.

The build went as per usual really. One of the things that causes a bit of confusion is the way in which to get the charge cooler hoses through the sill. The way in which I did it was to buy a 12mm dowel from B&Q, bore a 6mm concentrically in the end of it, thread it through the bottom grommet behind the front wheel and then jubilee clip a hole saw on it once it was through into the sill area. Using a mirror to make sure its located in the right place, you can then go round to the front of the car and turn the rod, in 2 seconds it’ll cut a neat hole in the sill and no need to dremel the clam at all ;)

I got a charge cooler header tank from Techie, the old Pro Alloy one that mounts in the boot. As such, I needed to drill the boot a couple of times to get the pipes through. Pretty happy with the result though.

Getting closer...

Sort of got bored of taking photos as I got close to the end. But its now complete, on the road and going grand. I'll get some more photos up at the weekend... Really happy how it turned out though :)

Looks fantastic. Did you get the hardtop painted? I notice your v and surround went black so I can't imagine the hardtop remained silver?

What do you think to SC power after the old stage 4 turdo?

Dont want to big up the turdo boys, but its a far cry slower... The stage 4 was savage as fook, at least my ancient old TMS map was. Compared to that the SC is a bit of a pussy cat. It'll probably liberate a couple more ponies once its been properly mapped. Its as smooth as butter though, and a hell of a lot more driveable than a tubster. Just not quite as heart in the mouth terrifying. Its exactly what I was after though :) Just need to compound 'charge it now :P

I've got the turbo, exhaust manifold and inlet manifold from a turbo'd B207R engine here and have tried to work out how it could all work together.

Got the Nitrons finally fitted up today. The OEM ones were looking pretty tired and it was noted that they were pretty corroded at its last service. As such, the only option would be to buy some proper aftermarket ones, as they needed replacing anyway :P

Old ones vs new ones...

The ride height was as they were received from Rosssco, so i might lower it a smidge from where it is. Not going to win any low rider competitions, but already scraping the number plate coming out of my drive.

So to try it out I took it for a wee drive to Anstruther, really just an excuse for a fish supper. Car felt grand, though the anti rattle door pins I fitted are doing quite the opposite, though I spent all of 3 minutes fitting them. Is there an easy way to get them set up?

Car was sliding around quite the thing on the wet roads. Have to say the way the power comes in makes for a hell of a lot more expoitable car when its wet out. Happy days...

ride hight looks better, slightly higher at the back and a bit lower at the front compared to orginal. thumbsup You need to go and get it mapped properly, cheap as chips and makes a big differece. Do it before january. It's also good to make sure your AFRs are right.
