Gauging interest at the moment.

I have designed a clear roof for VX as shown below.

The highlights are:
Experience open top feeling all year round
It warms the cabin like a green house in cool weather
Excellent visibility such as looking up at traffic lights
The cabin feels very light and airy
More headroom than standard hard top
Very lightweight construction
Wide operating range for seals so no messing around adjusting windows
No need for painting

The new roof would sell for GBP 500 that's more than I wanted to charge but is unavoidable.

Would anyone be interested in one of these if I were to build some more?

Looks a bit "unfinished compared to previous versions Paul? The fittings etc were more hidden previously weren't they?

Looks nearly there, just lose the front to back black raised strips on left and right and would look ace.. What are these? Great work though just needs a little tweak..

I bet getting them made in glass would be surprising value, and look less well erm, home made.

Like the idea but there is to much going on with that design for my liking. Sorry to say it looks like a bit of a miss match of parts and does not sit quite right, not 'OEM' looking enough for me.

If it looked more like an all in one piece like this it would be great -

Oh, and I think you would need some sort of roller blind on the inside you could draw accross otherwise it would get unbearable sat in the sun not being able to remove it!

The black bars are for the middle section, you can remove that and still go topless ;) The bars would look better if they weren't "T" shaped which is something I believe Paul is working on. Just needs a few more peoples input to refine the product :) I think Pauls done a top job thumbsup

I got a feeling that this may actually look better in the flesh. Good effort Paul... as said it may need a touch of refining to become an interesting alternative to a normal hard top... But the VX is a bugger to get angles to work well, it is shaped like a skip when all said and done. :tumble: :ban:

You may have returned to the easel too many times here. I'm sure this looked ace a few months ago?

The elise does look very perty! Paul I'm sure your design looked better a few months ago. Good on you for getting this to work though! Would potentially be interested in one over a hard top but I'd definatly need to see it in the flesh first - national next year?
