Well it runs. I can't get the coolant system to bleed but there isn't any smoke and the oil breather doesn't seem to be blowing too hard.
I haven't changed the chains just yet. Its not noisy and from the bolt it looks like it might have been done.
Had a nasty moment when i thought i'd had a big short...it turned out all the connections on the battery terminal were loose and corroded.

Ethylene glycol (active part of coolant) is classified as harmful if swallowed, according to the MSDS I found it takes 5 g per litre to kill a rat, that's not much and you could easily swallow 5 g when sucking on the return pipe. Wouldn't recommend putting it anywhere near your mouth.
Also weren't the Austrians putting it in they wine/champagne? Perhaps they've added something since to make it less drinkable?
Yes, I think they've gone to 100 % Austrian wine now, which is much less drinkable.

I won't take offence.I was always under the impression coolant was sweet-ish tasting. There was news reports years ago about kids dying from drinking the stuff. Also weren't the Austrians putting it in they wine/champagne? Perhaps they've added something since to make it less drinkable?

All done, drives great...now the clutch is bled. No amount of pumping the pedal was getting the air out. Easibleed did it right away.
Seems a little smoother than the old lump too.
Shame I'll most likely be selling the girl when shes tidied up. :-(
