Well it runs. I can't get the coolant system to bleed but there isn't any smoke and the oil breather doesn't seem to be blowing too hard.

I haven't changed the chains just yet. Its not noisy and from the bolt it looks like it might have been done.

Had a nasty moment when i thought i'd had a big short...it turned out all the connections on the battery terminal were loose and corroded.

I was always under the impression coolant was sweet-ish tasting. There was news reports years ago about kids dying from drinking the stuff. Also weren't the Austrians putting it in they wine/champagne? Perhaps they've added something since to make it less drinkable?

Ethylene glycol (active part of coolant) is classified as harmful if swallowed, according to the MSDS I found it takes 5 g per litre to kill a rat, that's not much and you could easily swallow 5 g when sucking on the return pipe. Wouldn't recommend putting it anywhere near your mouth.

Yes, I think they've gone to 100 % Austrian wine now, which is much less drinkable.

I won't take offence.

All done, drives great...now the clutch is bled. No amount of pumping the pedal was getting the air out. Easibleed did it right away.

Seems a little smoother than the old lump too.

Shame I'll most likely be selling the girl when shes tidied up. :-(
