Well the nights are cold and dark now so i needed a VX related project for the evenings. I decided to see if i could build a VX220 out of lego.

As mine is black it seemed like the colour of choice. Once completed it looked a bit to black so i've gone for some yellow highlights - like a kind of Lightning in reverse!

There were obviously a few compromises due to the scale i choose and the lego itself.

I'm pretty happy with the result although if i had more lego i might have choosen the next scale up (the downside being all the preformed bits would have had to be made from scratch and there are no figures any larger - not to mention the cost - spent enough on ebay as it is!)

I searched the web before hand in case anyone else had done this before but couldnt find anything.
All the pictures are here :

what do you reckon - recognisable as a VX ?

anyone else had a go at this before ?

Pretty good! thumbsup Suspect you may have done it anyway if you had the parts but I reckon smooth black tiles would look alot better on the roof, bonnet etc to cover up the 'locking dots'.

Nice effort, the VX definitely lends itself well to a lego build! Are those Bridgestones? ;)

The esprit looks like a scirocco! I tried a vx in Lego a while ago. Bloody tricky and I gave up in the end. Fair play for sticking with it.

Seloc would say the VX is ideal for a Lego model.
