As mine is black it seemed like the colour of choice. Once completed it looked a bit to black so i've gone for some yellow highlights - like a kind of Lightning in reverse!
There were obviously a few compromises due to the scale i choose and the lego itself.
I'm pretty happy with the result although if i had more lego i might have choosen the next scale up (the downside being all the preformed bits would have had to be made from scratch and there are no figures any larger - not to mention the cost - spent enough on ebay as it is!)
I searched the web before hand in case anyone else had done this before but couldnt find anything.
