Good evening all,
I used to be in here a couple of years back (coral blue vxt), then moved on to Z4M coupe/exige s/Noble now looking to come back.

I've been looking at a stage 4 vxt @ A.Blyth
http://classifieds.p...-stage-4/922164

does anyone know the car? How reliable is a stage 4?

This would be my toy, used for the odd track days but might be used for some fairly long continent drives. The alternative I seem to have found is an Audi'd Elise. Similar power output, slighlty better spec (Nitron as opposite to Gaz coilovers). But again not sure about reliability.

But I'm going OT, any comment/suggestion on the VXT?

Thanks/Luca

I'd take the S1 but that's my opinion. Lighter, better spec and those lovely wide sills ;) Stage 4 at Adrian Blyth's looks fine, 'old' TMS CC setup I think. If its been looked after there's no reason why it shouldn't be reliable.

I had an 'old' TMS stage 4 and it was badly set up and not reliable. Subject to the one youre chatting about being that spec, I would budget for a new remap at the very least. The tuning work on the turbo is ever changing, so I would like to see when all the work was done if I were buying one again...

Thanks all. The Elise would be an s2... while on the subject of the other stage 4 my simple reasoning behind was that from a dealer oneshould have a bit more peace of mind. But fair enough,I did ignore there is an old and a new setup. The blue one is even closer to me...

the silver stg4 looks like Minno's car , I know she had some driveability problems when she first got it, but it had some more work done on it after that.

With no info on price difference between the two cars I would go Elise by a mile! Stage 4 lumpy power delivery vs modern linear efficient Audi turbo? Plus the added luxuries of electric windows, a good heater, aircon, remote central locking, a good sound system etc (I must be getting old). That said I have no idea the cost of the two cars so if the Elise is twice the price then go for the vx.

Cheers Roberto. Yeah if it were me I think I'd personally go for the lotus tbh, lose the stripes though as suggested. Insurance might be more difficult to get though because of the modifications.

Out of the Elise's Personally i prefer the look of the s1 over the s2 but each to there own :) I'd be going for which ever one is the better car I.e condition, service history etc. just to add my stage 4 isn't "lumpy" guess it depends on the map :)
