They are all over Crewe as nobody there can afford to learn to drive a car, legally, not that it stops them! Either these or those scooters with pedals! Awful things. £5k would get you a leggy VX!

Very popular in france. You can drive them there when you've lost your license to drive driving :rolleyes:

Sounds bloody awful....I occasionally see/hear one as some old chap is doing 4.5mph along the roads in Baddow. It'd be quicker to walk/crawl/dance.

My dad test drove one in Lincoln. Couldn't even make it up the hill towards the castle. He handed the air back in the end .....utter crap!,

Yep when I was over there, was a big fat drunk man who had lost his licence, he then had to drive this thing, bizarre law!

Yup,
Renault are planning to bring in their low(er)-powered Twizy to the UK for that very reason.

Had the misfortune of driving one of these Axiams when I was work experience lad at Auto Express, through Central london. Think it still ranks up there in my top 5 scariest moments in a car...
