Im still having no luck with these HID's I took them back to HID's Direct today and they tested the ballasts and bulbs, all seem fine...which means its a problem with the car :( What ive done so far: When they first went, i took the fuse out and put it back in, and they worked for one journey - win Went to drive the car the next day - nothing Took the HID's out and re installed - nothing Ive replaced all fuses in the fuse box - nothing Triple checked all connection on the HID's and to the cars lights - nothing Not sure what else to do :(

Well when pressing the headlight switch it turns the sidelights, clocks, and rear lights off...so im guessing its working...however the led in the button has never worked whilst owning the car...could the switch be the culprit?

Have you tried fitting normal bulbs back and seeing if they work?

Do you know another local member who could pop round and try their bulbs to save you the cost?

This is getting silly now... I thought i had fixed problem yesterday as i re connected my HID's, cleaned up the fuse box and its connections and wiggled some wires about... They worked all the way up to sheffield last night, all around sheffield, and then half way back down snake pass they started flickering and everything turn off as before...now 02:30 in the morning on the pass with no lights is not very fun If i turned the headlights off the sidelights and rear lights came back on so i had to slowly and carefully drive all the way back on the LED side lights... Can someone help me!!! Its a rather vital bit of kit in a car the headlights, and now im unable to drive the VX between the hours of 18:00 and 06:00

So you are saying it's both lights going off? If so, I would suggest the fault is not with the lights, but elsewhere in the lighting system. Maybe the switch or relay? Try swapping over the switch.

Swapped over the switches, side - main, main - side, side - fog, fog - side, main - fog, fog - main etc - nothing changed (although one of the green LEDs in the switches started working again lol Are the relays the black of 3 thats under the dash near the switches? I did that yesterday and when switching them over no lights would turn on at all...thought they may be a different relay

They're the right relays.

You're not going to like my next suggestion.

Sounds like it's an intermittent break in one of the wires. Most likely place is the ones going into the fuse box. I suggest you inspect each one and carefully pull on them. I wouldn't be surprised if one comes away in your hand. As the fuse box is mounted on the wheel arch it will be very sensitive to bumps in the road so likely lead to it disconnecting and tripping the system as you went over a bump.

makes sense...the lights did flicker when turning right on some bends before they went off when you say a break in one of the wires...do you mean just the headlight wires, or could it be any of the wires causing the trip? (appreciate you help up to now fezzasus)

Could be any wire which makes up the lighting circuit. :(

I know a few people have had issues with wires corroding at the fuse box.

ok, that will be my first job when i get home later then... how are the wires connected to the fuse box? do they have connectors or are they soldered in etc? i.e. could i just gently tug them out, wiggle em about, clean em up and push them back in? its a bloody nightmare

to be honest i'm not sure, i've just hoped that it wouldn't happen to me. I might spray the whole thing with ACF50 now just to make sure of it.
