Speaking to Olly at Phoenix the other week he mentioned that i might have to change the oil I used in the engine...on the principal the better the power, the better the oil needed... What is everyone running and using?

10/50 or 10/60 fully synth here, depending on which I can get a better deal on at the time. Anything thinner and it used to seemingly evaporate out on track.

Don't get suckered into 'performance' oils, they're mainly unproven and have lots of hidden issues that the oil blender might not realise. For example, you can use very expensive, shear and oxidatively stable base oil (such as esters) in an oil, produce something very expensive both to the blender and the end user, but may perform worse than a cheap oil because the additives don't work as expected in the different polarity base stock. This remains untested because the oil blenders do not performance test their oils, which is why most performance oils do not have any claims. I would recommend Fuchs titan syspersyn 5W40, Motul 8100 X-cess 5W-40 or Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40, two of which are the same thing. These oils have had multi million dollar programs to prove their performance and get to where they are now.
