So that bracebar bit of scaffolding didn't even warrant a mention. Glad mine didn't get it.

i think that price list looks pretty cheap. Go and try and add leather to any car these days for £800 Touring pack at £350 seem reasonable too, as does central locking £500 for met paint seams on par with most cars, probably slightly cheaper. HT at £1300 looks fairly expensive but again not unreasonable in the context of an options list for a new car.

Those are prices from towards the end of production. & you've got factory fit options mixed with dealer accessories, hence the 2 prices for the hardtop. Price of the dealer retrofit hardtop shot up towards the end of the cars life. It was just over £1500 (with a very small margin, compared to the normal mark up) for a long time, before hitting the heights of nearly £2k! Turbo was £25495 from launch until a price increase sometime in 2004. Yes Cliffie £350 for cross drilled discs, didn't sell many, but much nicer to hold than a standard disc! Leather was £600 in the 2.2 JG as you didn't get the door cards or the handbrake/gearstick shroud thingy covered in leather.

I've got oem cross drilled discs fitted on mine. Picked up a full set from a dealers surplus stock for the same price as after market plain pikey discs. I have to say they do look . When I bought the car 9 years ago as the first private owner it had cross drilled discs and just about every available option going.

Fitted last weekend:

The venting on the Vaux supplied discs look more complex than the typical aftermarket options, hence the increased premium. Your calipers look in good nick.

10 years old though!

If you add say 20% onto everything its a bit more realistic but still probably a bit on the cheap side. Back then loading the options pricing was probably less a part of how the manufacturers made their money.

He barely uses them to be honest. The old discs hadn't actually worn down, just rusted through :-)

Oooold thread, but I'm selling an unused (they were too big for me) polo shirt and a zipped sweatshirt from the original options list if anyone is interested. They're on eBay.

£1100 included front speakers as well, only tears were standard. DX-R52 cost over £800 on it's own at the time don't forget. I had one in my VXR, not factory fitted so no front speakers. & no I didn't pay £800 for my unit 😇
