When i was removing the seats this weekend, i discovered (to my alarm!!) that the bolt holding the subframe onto the car was missing. Anyone know what type of bolt it is and where i can get a new one? Ta! Matt

Bolt? There should be 4 of them for each subframe. If you mean the front passenger bolt closest to the sill, then some people leave them out as it's a bugger to remove and replace if you don't have a cut down allen key.

Yeh i mean the 4 that bolt the subframe to the car. The one that is particularly difficult to get out was missing. Surely all 4 should be in place from a safety perspective?

Yes, they should. Check the EPC, that has the details of the bolt thread size and length.

Thanks for that. I have had a look for these online and they are hexagonal bolts. Is that right? I thought you needed an allen key to remove them, but these seem to be flay headed bolts

They're cap head bolts from factory.
You can put a hex bolt back if you prefer. It makes accessing is easier if you have a small ratchet.

The others are different sizes. I think all the passenger ones are the same from memory, but the drivers are longer. Maybe 20mm for the front and 25mm for the back. The hex bolt on the passenger seat only makes that one fixing easier, the rest are easily accessible with a 6mm allen key socket, an extension bar and a ratchet.

Sorry for the thread hijack Matt but I'm putting the original seats back in the vx after a retrim from Dave The Trimmer - could you post a pic of how the seat frame mounts to the seat itself - do the bolts use spacers at all??. - I used a reverie kit for my corbeaus and can't remember how the originals fit. Still trying to order the original spec (length) bolts too if anyone knows where to get them from (I think the reverie ones are longer) Paul

I think I'll have 1 or 2 spare seat base to floor pan bolts after I fit the seats this weekend. Ordered two new ones after I lost one.

There is a link from Matt on this thread: http://www.vx220.org...passenger-seat/
