I came to fit my new front shocks last night and have a bit of an issue with the top shock mounting. While the lower mouning is a nice tight fit on the shock, there appears to be around 5mm of free space either side of the top mount?

Do I need to pack this outwith washers or alike, or is there an alternative shock mount that need? They were bought as a direct replacement so I assumed they would be a bolt on change?!

Im not sure I have them will have to have a look around for them, in the box full of old bits! Failing that would they be a Lotus replacement or a GAZ part?

For something like that try your local Lotus dealer or Deroure.

Im waiting for a call back from Chris Neils. I dont mind buying new bits and well aware of Vauxhall prices but £11.80 for something like that is extreme.

No reason whatsoever you could not use a suitable large washer pack instead.

Maybe a daft question here.....But looking at the first pic is the shock the wrong way around?(upside down)I've heard that some people fit them incorrectly I'm guessing the adjusters knob should be at the top?

I was told that with the GAZ Gold 2 shocks the adjuster went at the bottom.....

Reason I ask is that I'm about to fit my new ones tonight and the old ones are fitted with the adjuster at the top?

Depends on what GAZ you're running as to whether it goes at the top or the bottom.

Nickels are at the top and Pro's are at the bottom, I believe (from reading on here). Check with Cliffie if you're in doubt.
