I doubt they would deal with anybody wanting less than a pallet and that could cost over 2grand and pos import costs based on 6 cans per box and around 80 to 100 boxes per pallet, if I knew I could sell them all then I would.

Finished my v, badge and fuel cap. Huge improvement over the chipped mess that they were.

Yep 3 coats seems enough. Go easy with the first coat or it can sag. Build up steadily :-)

Some of the auctions on ebay at the moment are insane - Single 400ml can going for £30 with 3 days left! Very annoying considering it goes for about $7 a can in the US :(

That looks really good - and a cheap and easy solution for making the petrol cap black.

However, any ideas as to how durable it is with petrol spills?

G

Don't spill, petrol dissolves the plastidip. Talking from experience :mellow:/>

Haven't dropped anything on the surround but it's peeling :( I've not even put any petrol in since I sprayed it
Must be residue from age old spills.
Either way it's going to have to come off.

VXTim, did you remove the bolts on the filler cap or spray them and pick off the residue? Did you stick with it in the end or have to remove it? I've read a lot about petrol destroying plasti dip but I'm still going to give it a go as it will be the only bit of silver left.

Hi Took the bolts out to spray it. I've not done anything with the petrol surround, the plastic is peeling just haven't got round to sorting it. The v and window surround are brilliant still, just not sure plastidip is the right choice for the surround/cap.

My V and windscreen surround look just the same after 18 months. Great stuff. Didn't work on my door cards as there was too much friction between the window winder and plasti dip so it peeled. It even works great on my track rod end rubbers. I bought some replacements rod ends 18 months ago but just painted the rubbers on the old ones which had some minor cracking and they passed the last two MOTs no problem with no advisories and the rubbers haven't deteriorated. Will fit the new ones at some point but can't see a reason to change them yet.

Wow, exactly which brand and which color (if there are variant on black) have been used here?

Variant on black? Erm Black. Don't do the petrol cap. Will look great for about 3 months then peel. Plastidip is fab for windscreen surround and silver v but rubbish for anything with rubbing or has oil/fuel on it.
