I'm guessing the Wheeler Dealers hunt for a VX they could fix up did not turn up a money making car...they must have chosen an S2 Elise instead

From SELOC:

URGENT! S2 Needed for Wheeler Dealer episode!!

The production company has contacted us, asking for a PRESTINE Elise S2 - and they want to film it on the afternoon of the 28th Feb

Car is not to be Ice blue - as thats the colour they have bought!!

quote:

am contacting you because as part of our upcoming 11th series we are working on a Lotus Elise S2. At the beginning of each episode we always film a ‘pristine version’ of the featured vehicle. This is to show the viewer how good the vehicle can look and what we’re trying to achieve by the end of the show. We would get beautiful driving/tracking shots of it and in the programme it might say “This is what we’d like our car to look like” or “These are the improvements we will be making, like the ones on this car”. Essentially we’re looking for an owner who is proud of their vehicle and would like it featured looking great on TV, and I was wondering if you have any members in your club who own an Elise S2 and would like to take part.

We would look to film at Chobham/Longcross testing ground on Thursday 28th February. We would film for half a day (in the afternoon from around 12pm-5pm). For insurance and legal purposes we would have a member of our team driving your car. We have a highly experienced team of people who have been working with and driving all kinds of cars on the programme for 10 years now, so they would have lots of experience in handling performance cars.

The only two requirements are that it has to be an Elise S2 for faithfulness’ sake, and it has to be of a different colour to ours (ours is a silvery/sky blue – please see photo attached)

It's so one of their lackies can hoon it around and you don't get to see it. Cue lots of the seloc massive realising they don't have a standard car

Maybe. But would you let that cnut Brewer murder it and try to drift/doughnut it somewhere followed undoubtedly by him sitting on one clam, or the other, as he pontificates to the camera.

Grips my sh*t that. Every episode he's sitting on car even a freshly painted Bentley fs. Nevermind the slamming of doors, yanking of handbrake and general hashyness!

I like wheeler dealers, great little programme for looking at old cars and seeing how a few things go together but Mike annoys me!

this is the reason I stopped watching it. I can't stand that tosser. All IMO. I would rather a program just abouut Ed and him fixing stuff and his simple explantions and work-arounds, problem solving ect.

Likewise, much as Ed is a bit of dick as well, I'd much rather watch 60 minutes of him actually checking/fixing things than 25 minutes of Brewer talking sh!te and trying to blag a deal on the car and at the parts suppliers. It's exactly the same as that other show with that Cockney knobber (that used to do that other stupid show with the Indian cut and shut bloke) and his Canadian mate buying up something, doing the equivalent of 3 months uncharged labour on it and then flogging it for the inevitable "profit", which would be nothing of the kind if you did it for real. Somebody else mentioned the A ....is born series. Much as I hate Mark Evans, watching him build a car/plane/helicopter from scratch or dismantling a Land Rover/MG/whatever and rebuilding it is much more interesting.

That would be better The pretence that they are making profit really really really pisses me off ! especially when I've worked on the teasers for the show and having spoken to the guys who brought the cars down for us to shoot on I found out that me'old china dosen't even do all of the work !!! I know it's telly and not a window into another realm but come on. As you say better to do a how to type program
