Hi Folks,

Newbie here! Some of you may have seen an old tread I stared, seeking help with the popular airbox mod.

First day of warmth & no snow today, so FINALLY got round to doing it !!!

As promised, I photographed & documented the entire process. Whilst no expert (& open to constructive criticism) I’ve done my best to produce a “Definitive Guide”. You can download the PDF (with pic’s & full instructions) here:

MANY thanks to all who helped & offered support. This is an easy & worthy FREE mod. Even with my limited knowledge (& tools) I managed it in around 3 hours. The mod was applied to my VX220 NA. However it should work equally as well on the Turbo (with much the same process & outcome).

Great guide up until the point when you drill holes in the bottom section.

Nice guide. I'm sure I remember reading on z22se that this reduces the fuel pressure ratio by speeding up airflow which reduces power. I'll have a look for the thread
