Ricky, I've just spotted in your gallery that you've moved the CDA kit closer to the throttle body and replaced the standard pipe with a shorter flexible hose. Did you motice any difference with this mod? More power? Noisier? and did you have any trouble attaching the sensors to the carbon airbox? I've just ordered the CDA 70-150 kit, so any advice before fitting would be great :)

Just finished fitting the BMC filter today. Wow, what a difference to the sound quality!! even with the standard exhaust. On part throttle or below 3,000rpm you would never know the airbox has been removed. But open the throttle wide above 3,000 and it sounds a bit NASCAR-like :P Hard to believe it's only 4 cylinders. I'd be surprised if it has added any more power, but it revs a little more cleanly, and did I mention ? it sounds a lot better than standard :P It'll be interesting to see what effect removing the pre-cat and fitting the Vxl sports exhaust has. Just hope it doesn't exceed the trackday noise limits  :o

Two questions

1. How much was it?
2. Where did you order it from?

Hi Jim, Two answers :) 1. £175 2. Demon Tweeks mail order 01978 664466 They should have sent me the kit listed for the Opel Speedster; CDA 70-150. The 70 refers to the outer diameter of the throttle body inlet hose. I got the 80-150 kit instead, which comes with a plastic adaptor to reduce the outlet to 70mm. I was going to send it back, but thought the extra diameter might come in handy if I fit throttle bodies later on - 30% more area if my high school maths is correct :P Let me know if you wnat to have a look/listen to it.

I've installed the sensors on the carbon box (simply drilled a hole with a conic tip ) and used the flexi hose, just 'cuz I saw it done like this by komo-tec tuning shop......and they claimed some subt. torqe gains.... so.... what the heck.... cost is zilch, looks cooler, let's do it..... sound is a bit throatier. that's all I guess, until I dyno it with all the other exhaust mods....
