Ive found so much useful information/ways to spend my money on this site, and want to start using it more so i thought i had better start a project thread.

I only purchased the car a couple of months ago but as it is used as my daily, i have had a chance to get to grips with it now. Love it!

Its a 2.2 NA in Rabiata red. Some pics:

Last weekend i removed the rear clam to carry out the following:

*general inspection and clean up
*Fit my new Tullet manifold and hi flow cat
*oil and oil filter
*fuel filter
*air filter
*change the alternator belt

clam off:

Note the precision tool on the rear frame.
Upon inspection it was just aswell i was replacing the manifold! To be honest i was expecting to find a crack here as the last service work reciept had an advisary for a slightly blowing manifold.

exhaust system off, not much of a job, only had a bit of a delay on one of the old manifold studs, not wanting to come out, but got there in the end.

New Tullet manifold and 200 cell cat thanks to James who sorted the group buy on here :)

All fitted with new studs, gaskets, and bolts.

Standard back box on for now, i think i want to stick a Larini on there, and then have to change it over to standard for track days.

Coolant tank bracket before:

and after, also fitted a gear box breather filter on there, and have a piece of carbon fiber cut out to use as a uv cover(not pictured):

Thats where im up to now, picking up new seals tomorrow so i can change the oil filter and hopefully my new fuel filter and alternator belt will be here so i can get them fitted too.

After this write up i now have even more respect for the guys who do long and detailed write ups/guides, as believe it or not this has taken me ages lol

Good progress Ian, I'd like to get a tubular manifold on mine as my standard one ticks slightly under load when cold. I like the "in feet first" approach you have adopted :tt:

Welcome to the Rab Red club!! :P Manifold looks lush. You'll need some Nimbus heat shield on the clam. Certainly mine did...

nicollow i have put the standard back box heat shield on (not pictured) although because it has seen better days i would like to make my own, do you have any pictures of what you have done for heat protection of the clam?

Ive not got any yet, but probably will do by tomorrow. Try searching for "nimbus heat shield" or somit for photos...

I ceramic coated my manifold but it still kicks out a sh!tload of heat:

What do you mean by realling? tighten it up? will that take the sag out of the middle front?

Looks like that is my next little build, is it not wise to run with this manifold without extra heat shielding fitted to the clam then? Im sure i have read on here that a few people run without and have had no problems with heat?

Never tried it without shielding with this current design of Tullet manifold. But with the original TMS/Tullet 4-1 manifold it was very close to the original bulkhead heatshield and in the case of MartinS's car, it managed to melt it.

When I went to CMS to get the SC remapped the guy jokingly said that it was lucky I mentioned to watch out for heat from the manifold, as he stuffed a couple bits of nimbus behind it. Said that one set fire to itself on the rolling road!

May just be the angle, but the cabling looks like it may foul on the gear selector in that last photo? ETA - may be worth getting rid of the EGR valve and using one of the 'cheaters' from the z22se.co.uk site

Just took the car out for a spin since fitting the new exhaust, seems to pull through the gears a bit better and sounds nice too. However ive noticed that the engine light is now on, is this due to lambda sensors?
