Well this was going to be part of my alternative supercharger setup, but plans change :)

It fits the head perfectly, and even the stock throttle body, as shown in pics:

£30 collected from Redditch, Birmingham. Or could meet closer to Bristol. Postage would be quite expensive, but not impossible. These are very expensive new, so a bargain!

Would this give any slight powergains or no?

I don't know to be honest, as far as I'm aware nobody has fitted one... I was going to go for a rotrex setup but wasn't convinced the standard plastic manifold was a good idea in a boosted setup; so it would be good for a setup using either a turbocharger or a centrifugal supercharger. It may give benefits for an NA setup - fancy trying it :) (it could be ported too ;))

Could be interested yes but Im unable to fit it myself so might be more than its worth paying someone to fit it? :/ I'm also new to modding a n/a engine, what's ported? (Sorry if that's a stupid question)

Just free flowing, by removing material to increase flow through the system :) If you dig out my project thread there are a load of pictures in there of me porting the head that is fitted to my car, also ported the throttle body - makes a noticeable difference :) To be honest I wouldn't recommend this if you need to pay someone labour to get it working as no doubt it will need a little fettling to get all the ancilliaries connected up and you wouldn't really want to be paying by the hour to get it all sorted - this is more of a project for someone that likes tinkering! :)

Ill check your thread now. I do enjoy having a crack at anything but wouldn't even know where to start with the engine and would probably end up doing more damage than good. Ill give it a miss this time thanks but hopefully i should be able to carry out work like this in the future. Glws!

Hi

What advantages does this have over the standard plastic manifold?

Also, can you be more certain if it has been ported or not?

Regards

Why are people selling these? Not worth doing or have these come off the saab engine from the group buy??

Is there any gains to be had from this, extra power or noise? Noise = speed. right.

the reality is the Saab inlet manifold is not that great for NA power, so unless you plan on fitting a turbo or Rotrex SC it is not worth bothering with.

But I'm sure all those who purchased a Saab engine will happily flog you their inlet manifold if you feel the urge to try one

For a decent PCV set-up with a Turbo or Rotrex you better use the Saab intake as it has the one way valve standard.

(Vraag eens rond bij de Nederlandse Saab builders...)
