Im going to about 7k as i would of thought the rev limiter would be raised at stage 4?

I don't think mine has a limiter as I've never hit it. Even so there is little point in going to 7000. 6500 at the most as it does run out of power up there.

Yeah ill have a good search for a decent rolling road near me. You mention that there wouldn't be much difference with the gsi? So there for when every one told me my old Astra vxr with 300bhp would easily be destroyed by a stage 4 vx220, even a stage 2 vx was talking shite?

All I know, rolling start from 70 with my friends 997 turbo S wasn't a great deal in it.

Are you sure your changing gear  :P

Or sell your VX and go back to a Astra VXR

Or take it on track then be blown away by what the VX can really do

Perhaps all you need is a nice counterfeit Rolex to time your acceleration runs, maybe Nige can hook you up with one...

Factor in a few corners and the Astra will become very small, very quickly. Along the same lines of a few posts... what are you actually doing at 60 mph? Sitting in 5th and booting it? Sitting in 5th and dropping to 4th? Sitting in 4th? Sitting in 2nd at about 6500rpm?

Usually sit in third at 60mph. Flooring it in forth at 60 would take all day (takes a while to pull)

Find a local stage 4 to compare power delivery maybe ?

You must have a lot of private roads near you for 100Mph testing

If you want to get more scientific with it, which can help, try Harry's Lap time for iphone or a more accurate PerformnceBox or vbox from Racelogic, its a great way to track your mods and the true performance of your car. see this thread to show the greaphs on my stage 4.

The difference in weight between the 2 astras might surprise you.

when I running 260hp I was against a stage 3 Astra and there was no comparison I.e the Vx totally left it down the dragstrip

Yeah from a standing start I can definitely see the vx stage 4 destroying the Astra for many reasons but from a rolling start its a different story. I've had a play with a standard one. About 8 car lengths from 30mph but they are rubbish standard. What's the cheapest way of logging the performance? Bluetooth obd2 port thingy and a laptop?

Not the best day to be doing this, boost was reading low and a very easy pull off.

For reference My stage 2 vxt with 240bhp was evenly matched against a focus Rs II with 400bhp from 20mph to "motorway" speeds. Got to be 5-600kg difference between them.

Are you running 280hp+? Have you checked your boost control solenoid? I had a similar problem when I was at stage 2 but when I went to stage 3 (new turbo etc) it was fine I.e no problems with boost
