I remember my own "stage 4" engined car seeming rather feeble after about 120 leptons. Quite normal I think.

Don't forget these cars have terrible CoD factors (especially with a wing), so 300 BHP doesn't go very far, as air resistance approximately increases to the square of the speed.

Yeah ill have a good search for a decent rolling road near me. You mention that there wouldn't be much difference with the gsi? So there for when every one told me my old Astra vxr with 300bhp would easily be destroyed by a stage 4 vx220, even a stage 2 vx was talking shite?

Dyno dynamics RR in Sunderland - http://www.sedox-performance.co.uk/

PD Tuning in Boldon also have a good rep and I'm sure redvts had a remap done there at one point. Might be worth a try (it's near the ASDA)

Astravxr, from your video clips the car looks like it goes very well, however I think you should dust a 280bhp Astra from any speed, surprised you could only pull a car length.

Well thats what i thought. The power to weight difference between the two cars is a lot. I could pull more from a standing start, i expected that but from rolling start at anything after 60mph it was roughly the same, i had to really try to pull 1 car length. Maybe his gsi is more than 280bhp but even a gsi with 300bhp i shouldnt have bother with

I dont know what im running aimy, Liam said anywhere between 280 and 300. I would of thought he would of said that the boost control solenoid was buggered if it was?

Sorry I was referring to lordmike. Yours (going by the vid) looks to be running as it should :) maybe you was expecting a little too much from it as I've been in a lot of fast cars and stage 4 isn't slow :)
yeah that!

Simple solution Buy and Astra, tweak it to a bit more than your mates then you will dust your mates!

Its not about having a faster car than an Astra or having an Astra with 1000000bhp. All im saying is for a car with not much weight and BHP around 280 - 300. It should p*ss all over an Astra!

Fit a proper gearbox that isn't designed for fuel economy and cruising comfort, if you're so bothered.

The Astra uses VX220 side repeaters, that's his advantage

The VX weight advantage diminishes as the speed increases because wind resistance becomes the dominant factor. As Nev has pointed out, wind resistance increases exponentially; so couple that with the poor Cd factor of the VX and in your case that wing. I'm guessing this explains the outcome.

Why waste all this time discussing and arguring - proceed directly to Stage 9 (whatever TF that may be) and concern yourself with Astras no more...
