Not rubbing salt in the wounds and frankly I would petrol bomb them but its like leaving an F40 with Jon at the local cut and shut. What possessed you?

Which plonka is that aimed at?

Wankers.

I never leave my car with anyone. If I can't do the work myself I just sit in the passenger seat.

I have two large laminated stickers still on both sills that say " fragile sill do not press" still on from an mot ages back so was not as bothered when I had to leave my car with a garage while on the hoon for a new alternator. I would like some nice posh ones to replace them with and leave on permanently. In all fairness who the hell would think you cant press on a sill when you get in and out of a car. I suppose it may be possible for someone to crack a sill with out even knowing

Hope they sort it out for you.Best of luck

sorry to hear this but It happens , best to learn from it and fit a set of john betts

metal cill plates with a set of stickers saying no step or something similar, also

when ever you leave it explain to the garage what they can and cant pull, push

or step on, sounds daft but most take notice, hope you get it sorted.

Had this a while back myself.

I've got genuine 'NO STEP' aircraft decals on my sills

Bought them from a pilot supplies store. They are made from some kind of aluminium foil and seem to be indestructible, they still look brand new and they've been on there for 3 years. Cost £10 for the pair though.

Unfortunately, the shop I got them from no longer appears to sell them. The closest I can find is these on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item53e7dabfd3

Mine are similar to the silver ones but smaller (more like 10cm long). Hopefully they will indicate to even the most brain-dead that the sills are fragile

That is terrible :( worst part of all is that some deceitful coward couldn't own up to his mistake when he made it.  If somebody owned up and it got fixed, you could just write it off as a bad experience but now you have to fight with them to own up :grouphug:

This is exactly why i am paranoid about taking the VX to anyone who hasn't got experience working with them.

My VX is looked after by Greasemonkey off this forum. Someone who actually knows what he is doing! As for the MOT (because Greasey's garage doesn't do MOT tests) i send it to a place recommended by him who have worked on a number of VX's before.

Other than these two, no one touches my VX!

I'm really sorry to hear about this mate and hope you can get Kwik Fit to accept liability.
