Hi all,

I'm Mike from Hampshire and I've now been enjoying my yellow VX turbo for a couple of months.

My car is pretty standard, though I've started to realise I'm in danger of spending a huge amount of cash modding it. As I bought it partly because of its budget supercar tag, I'm not sure it's going to live up to the first part of that . Oh well.

I managed to check out most of the history of the car thanks to posts by previous owners on .org, so that was really useful. This includes spending a year living in Marbella. It's probably had a more exotic life than me, in fact. The first owner put a private plate on it, which I like as it sounds like a pit board!

I was lucky to get the car cos an NA owner saw it first and was hoping to buy it, but that fell through for some reason. So if they are reading this, sorry!

Jez and co at Back on Track have done a fine job getting it running brilliantly, plus some cosmetic changes and fiitting a Jonnyboy hard top for me (thanks Jon). I'm amazed how much difference just fitting some Mintex pads have made, too. I'm trying to resist spending a huge amount more on it, now. I think I might as well have my salary paid straight to Back on Track for the next couple of years...

Some pics here, if I've managed to upload them properly:

I took the car for a session at Brands last week. Great fun! I decided to have a bit of a laugh with the caption on the first photo...

(don't want to upset any Exige drivers!)

Very nice sir, you'll find the spending only gets more and more out of control.

Welcome. Nice pics. Looks like You are having fun!! Honestly....modding is great but can seriously hurt your wallet. When I got mine I said it would be kept standard and that didn't last for long....once you start you can't stop!! Enjoy.

Thanks for the welcome and the comments, folks.

MandM, re my location, it turns out to be exactly the same as Kunie, i.e. Chandlers Ford...

(I only didn't put that as my location as I thought most people wouldn't have a clue where it was!).

Yeah, good detective work - well impressed !

At least it was still a yellow turbo in those days and not a blue NA or something. Then I would be worried.

The esplanade at Marbella has nothing on Eastleigh High Street....

Well, it does have a McDonald's actually. Just no palm trees (or maybe they have been nicked).

Nice to see my old set of wheels having some fun. Still miss her dreadfully - by far the best car I've ever owned. Paul

Lived here for 10 years, but not a local I'm afraid.  I've seen a couple of VX's around - black one in Parkmill on Saturday, and there's a red one on the Carmarthen Road.

Now drive a Freelander 2 most of time - still it has pushed it's 0.5m wading depth a few times at Llandewi Corner!  Whizzing is restricted to an A4 Avant - quick but not in the same league as a VXT.

How can I regret buying a VX? Because it wasn't YELLOW! a nice subtle colour. 2 in my area at the time & 1 at least knew I wanted yellow & the 1st VXt I went to see was yellow at a back street dealer or (in the sticks) in Reading but I thought there was body issues & the dealer never tried to convince me otherwise. God it looks good, enjoy it Mike. thumbsup
