I'm not convinced by the concept. One of the main benefits of running a hardtop in the summer is that it keeps the sun out. In the summer a clear roof is going to probably kill you. In the winter you are loosing the heat retaining advantage of having a two layer roof with air trapped in between the layers. They could be made to look good but practicality wise I'm not convinced.   Just had a similar argument with the Mrs about not having a panaramic roof in the daily bus.

I want it more for winter than for summer, though in summer it would be a great alternative on a rainy day. Heat lost not a problem! I have a keen interest in astronomy :P
grow bag and tomato seeds on the passenger seat ?😃

Nice. Imagine it lite up at Christmas!

Not so sure I'm convinced this one works quite as well http://www.visium.it...tispeciali.html

Too much impact

Pity about the print :P and the price!!

If it's dry enough, whip the roof off, if not, why do you want to look at rainclouds?

It's for the wet weather, lots of it here at home :(

The Paulus roof is brilliant. It does kind of curve to the shape of the car after a while. Paul is still refining the roof and has made several visits to me for improvements to it.

in winter it does keep the car warmer than the soft top ;) Its also very nice in he dark, opens up the dark cramped 'cock pit' without getting freezing cold :)

If he can get it looking like the OEM I'm interested

Would look good with a slight tint the same colour tint as the car and then it blends in a bit more

:yeahthat:

Flawed concept IMHO. What would be a better idea to chase is a hardtop that offers all the alleged benefits a current one does (the only benefit was looking better from the outside ) but be storable in the car so you don't look like a bender in the summer

 Why flawed?

Could always put a boat window in the OEM hardtop  :D

For the reasons stated... Clear or even tinted will be an oven. No real ability to get double glazing in to help. Inevitably too much flex and so on. Doing it to claim its in spite of some grumpy people on here though, sorry you missed that boat  And no way will it be real glass as that's just putting a sh*t load of weight high up :(

If you really wanted to do it you could do two panels.  Shrink the centre rib part of the HT inner and the box section at the front and back then cut out the squares above driver and passenger heads.  As long as the box / rib parts still bond to the outer the strength will be retained.  Then you could 'let in' two clear panels into the outer that match with the bits cut out of the inner.  If you used that mirroring tint on the plastic it would keep the sun out.  I vaguely considered it but generally CBA putting the effort into something I'm not bothered about myself just to prove it can be done well.
