First of all am i right in thinking that there's only 2 options available, Chris tullett and 2bular? What's the noise difference between the 2? I've currently got a 2.5" milltek full exhaust system with a 100cell sports cat, is the noise of either comparable to my current exhaust system? Would be nice to have a few more pops and bangs but wouldn't want anything too droney I'm sure I read some where on here that some people was having problems with one of the 3" exhausts but can't remember what the problem was now and wether it was the tullett exhaust system? With the 2bular exhaust I know one of you was having problems with the tailpipes been too short resulting in scorching the clam, has this been rectified now? Thanks :)

A 3" is not just for noise but better to get the gases out. I have the tullet and it does sound nice. Going to 3" will give you more bhp and torque as well.

I love the 3" tullett , no problems with it at all, over the last 3 years.

Doesn't sound to loud either

still at 2.5" .... that 0.5" will make all the difference

3rd option - get one custom made to your spec / desired noise level.

A good exhaust fabricator should be able to make what ever you need, and probably no more expensive than the (IMO) slighty over-priced bolt-on options.

Would rather stick to the bolt on options :)

I am happy with my 3" 2Bular.  I have a 200cell cat and a decat pipe.  No issues with tailpipe length.  Doesn't drone on the motorway but sounds nice when you give it the beans.  Makes some rather loud banging noises when you get it track hot.

...I think the issues mostly reported with 3" systems is that the reduction in back pressure can cause turbo oil seals to blow.

What's the quality like on the 2bular/Tullett? I'm thinking of going de-cat if I decide to go for a 3" exhaust. Edit Just looked on the Chris Tullett website and there's no option for a de-cat?

Managed post this in the wrong thread

2bular seemed to go through an iffy stage when i bought mine and every exhaust they made was different. They have apparently sorted this out and Liam mentioned the last few have gone straight on. I have had no problem with the quality of mine.

I got a quote from an exhaust manufacturer, they needed the car for a week or two and couldn't guarantee any noise levels. I decided to stick to a proven manufacturer. It wasn't a great deal cheaper either.

My Tullets been ok for a few years now. Its a little noiser now that it was as it probably needs repacking. Still ok at most tracks - is usually on the limit at Goodwood but they are fussy. Its not a loud in your face exhaust - but for me thats good. I wanted it to help the performance no other reason. I have 100 cell cat on it.

I've had both.  Both were top quality fabrication.  The tullet is repackable whereas the 2bular wasn't.  The 2bular uses a pre-chamber to take the pressure hit and preserve the packing.  I have a decat silencer from Tullett so they will do it if you ask.  The tullett is slightly quieter (which is what I want).  Turbo's are generally quieter anyway so you might want to enquire here about any noise tests people have had.

The quietest 3" system for sure is Dave Hardwick with the 2 silencer option - Rob has heard it also

This is also wth a longer main silencer and as with ALL of Dave's work quality A1 - A certain VX member is having a system fitted any day now and then they are open to whoever wants them including final pricing / fitting options

I have a standard size Dave H turbo style backbox and looks the dogs dangles :) - even the angle of tailpipe is adjustable for a perfect fit!

I have ran / seen just about every exhaust option and cetainly the 2 other main providers are of very good quality but know where my money would go ;)

A nice chunk less than the other options ;)

The price of course will depend on with cat / extra silencer option etc etc as with all options but again still cheaper

Options are

1. Full exhaust with no cats and standard size backbox

2. Full exhaust with no cats and longer (quieter) backbox

3. Both above with 2nd smaller silencer

4. Both above with choice of cell cat (no option for 2nd silencer with cat)

5. whatever tailpipe you want single - straight or angle or oen twin option (3" x2)
