Prise off the plastic bit and it leaves you with a short aluminium stub to clamp the pipe onto.  13mm ID required IIRC.

Yep, got 13mm id silicone hose and a breather. Believe it might need some adhesive to help stay on. Thanks

Check it after each track day, as mine popped off last hour of the national... nasty bloody mess.

Happened twice to me at national, Found the nipple that you try and put jubilee clip over us to small and evertime you tighten it, it just slides off, A cable tie around the pipe stopped the clip from sliding but I have no confidence that it won't happen again, And it does make a right mess like Mbes said and you have to drain box oil and refill so you get the right amount back in

Would it have been worse if you hadn't fitted a breather?

Would of been alot worse in the morning first session out, the oil fires out that breather hole.... atleast with the pipe its goes up.... then drains back in to the gear box again.

Well that has to be THE pikiest modification I've ever done to a car, zero confidence in that staying on and that is with the pipe itself sticking out of the bonnet causing the least amount of strain on the join.
When I fold the pipe so it actually fits under the bonnet I'm quite sure it'll pop off

Doing up the jubilee clip I dropped my little 7mm spanner, it hit NOTHING until the floor and I have the undertray on  :D couldn't do that again if I tried.

Also the pipe touches the gear linkage :meh:

You want the nice permanent Vocky breather mod, instead of trying to convince that hose to stay attached. :)

You are quite correct, I do want that! How he threaded the stub (assume that's what he did) I have no idea.

That looks a lot better than a pipe jubilee clip to the smallest nipple in the world

What thread size is that nut?

Gawd knows, he did it for me years ago when I wasn't looking. It was something reasonably obscure (may have been something like 1/8" NPT or similar) as he had to buy a tap especially for cutting a thread into the base of the selector mechanism (have to cut the nipple off flush first) and then use a couple of fittings from Pirtek. He's probably documented it properly in his build thread on the Z22SE site.

Didn't he also say he'd never do another one
