Hi guys, gals, slindys and gooses

As above i am after Halfords HCB063 battery  at £70 to give a bit more oomph as this winter could  be a cold one...and....so after a discount card to help bring price down

best other price for a normal HB063 I have managed is £54 from local trade guy

Located at Baldock , N Herts, but can easily pick up on a daily basis anywhere close to M1, M45, Coventry, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Bedford

I need it before next weekend when JJJ is installing a Fezz heater  :)

thanks

HH

come and collect mine if you want.

Might be worth a call to shield batteries in Bishiops Stortford. IIRC they were a bit cheaper than halfords (after trade card) for a VX battery.

Yep, I found my local battery specialist was cheaper (and for a better battery) than Halfords with trade card.

I have a trade card - you even know where I live!

Halfords seem to check them more than they used to, so don't mind getting the battery if required. When I phoned up for one earlier in the year, the Halfords 3yr HB063 was £59.99, £44.89 trade, and Bosch 5 yr HSB063 was £89.99, and £68.92 trade.

Thanks everyoneI w

ill do a comparison of local vs online vs Halfrauds

and possibly take up offer of trade card ..I will Pm if I go down that route  :)

Without doing searches , wikepedoe etc

Just why are some batteries better than others (except price).. e.g why are Bosch better than Brand Halfraud vs another  if they all claim the same output, warrenty etc

i.e. Why are HCb063 different than plain HSB063..what do you get for extra £20

I am after a battery that can stand the cold, every year during real cold spells and not using car for say 3-4 days I have to trickle/recharge

cheers

HH

just get one with a 3 year warranty , pay a lot less than the £100 ones , and replace it after 3 years. This stuff is all made in China anyway.

Thread closed, europarts bosch ordered, all rather painless and I havent left my desk, and all I have to do is wait for delivery...painless effective efficiency all down to .orgers  :grouphug:

I now have a trade card ;) It was a piece of p*ss to get one. My colleague went in and said he didn't work in the trade but used a lot of their tools, a lie really. He had to show his business card. That was it. I went in passed on my way home and mentioned his name. They asked me for a business card or some sort of id. I had nothing. They said that it was ok and they just gave me one. Wish I had asked sooner :P
