So Rolf Harris has now been charged of indecent behavior and possessing images of minors.

I am really saddened by the news as I always liked watching him while I was growing up. I know there will now be a lot of "do you know what it is yet" and didgeridoo jokes kicking about already.

Anybody else saddened or are we all just sickened?

I am saddened, just by the allegation.

It cannot be true, surely?

I am really saddened by this, I guess we have all done the "well he looks like a paedo" things with some of those that have been charged, and he is far from that llist.

So Mike, likeiwise, I am really saddened by this. I maintain that the historical events are based in different times with some of them, I imagine that all of the Beatles could be found guilty of something (the song "Little Child" springs to mind, Stray Cat Blues by the rolling stones, Dacing Queen by Abba, et al).

I am also annoyed as I invested in a piece of his artwork, so that I guess will loose a lot of value.

Steve, the images on his computer were there; that is not in question. I agree the other charges need to be proved.

However the Prosecution have had a lot of time to look into this and there must be a fairly substantial case to bring it to court.

My manager used to be a runner at the BBC for Animal Hospital and used to work with Rolf Harris most days.

I have never been sure about him.....

Seems strange that I might have got it so wrong.

True, these charges aren't brought lightly. Especially with a celebrity.

I hope it isn't true, he is intertwined in many of our lives. I suspect however that he is guilty as sin.

Saddened?...annoyed?

...gosh yes indeed

...by how anybody in their right mind can have such low values of life and empathy toward the lifelong pain and suffering of those that have been 'touched' both pyhsically and mentally by such acts (regardless of the subject of this topics innocence or guilt) that they can find the subject matter humerous or acceptable to be used in a humerous manner.

The acts of child molesterers sicken me but so does the disgusting and lowlife reaction of those that value themselves so much more 'human'

Sorry...didn't mean or want to go on so ...

..icey

Thats the way some people deal with controversy. Make light of it, its just their 'defence mechanism'.

Its a sorry affair for all the victims though, one they might never get over.

On a more serious note. Bandwagon springs to mind. Ever since Jimmy Saville, there have been loads of people jumping on it. I'm not saying that something hasn't happened. But I'm not saying it has either.

Rolf has been rumbling on for a while. It was in the press a few months ago that he was arrested and released as part of Operation Yewtree.

....or the BBC sat back and did nothing while all its top billers were slipping it to underage people. 'It'll never see the light of day, and we are making good money so we will turn a blind eye'

Hypothesis obviously but....
