Regrettably I have for sale my Calypso Red VX220 with Webcon Throttle Body conversion, Silver Hardtop, Turbo Spoiler (not fitted or painted) and leather door trim for fitting.

I am looking for £7,900 for a quick sale.

I purchased this car in 25.03.06 with the intention of keeping it forever, unfortunately a change in circumstances means she has to go. I have spent in excess of £8000 (receipts to prove) getting the car up to scratch.

These include the professional fitting and mapping of the Webcon Throttle Body Kit
Full Miltek stainless steel exhaust and race CAT
New Rear Shocks
New Rear Tyres
New Radiator Fan
New Battery
New Damper Block
New Engine Mount

Plus all of the usual servicing required giving it a Full Service History.

With regards documentation I have the following -

Owners Manual
Service Booklet
Receipts for work carried out while I owned it
Some receipts from the previous owner
Some MOT Certificates
Clifford Alarm Booklet
Vauxhall Car Pass
VDO Stereo leaflet
Suregaurd Assistance &
Suregaurd Warranty items
Owning a vauxhall booklet that came with the original car
Service Network Booklet
and V5 of course

The body work is in good condition with no bubbling to the paint work. The worst point by far is the slight damage to the drivers door where I caught it on my electricity meter!!! Grrrrrr.  The front has the usual stone chips but nothing you wouldn't expect from a car of this age and mileage. I had the car professionally detailed the result of which you can see on the video link below.  Its valeted using MacGuires or Autoglym, the leather seating is fed and it has been detailed by Paul Wilkins of 'The Ultimate Shine' car detailing company, you can see the result in the photos!! No photoshopping here!!!!

The wheels are in generally good condition with the odd curbing mark here and there and a little bubbling of the lacquer on the inside of the wheel. The tyres are the recommended Bridgestone Potenzas which have 4mm of tread all round....

Now the best bit. The car is now running 196bhp (see dyno plot), so comparable with VX220 TURBO figures. However, the icing on the cake as you can imagine is the noise when driving. The throttle bodies roar coupled with the full Miltek exhaust is music to the ears!! Drivability is fantastic as you can see from the lovely linear power plot.

Here is a link to a short video giving you a taster......

You will need the Password:  VX220K
Here is the link -

For more information on the ITB kit this is an informative thread on a similar car.

I also have available a silver factory hardtop, unpainted and unfitted turbo spoiler and some leather covers for the door interior that i was going to use to for a retrim available at additional cost.

Please feel free to contact me for any further information or if you'd like any more photos.

Sorry, I am based just outside Glasgow.  I thought I had priced it OK in terms of taking the door nick into consideration although open to suggestions if you disagree? Thought I was doing great by garaging the car all the time, until my door met the electricity meter on the wall, now both myself and the car hate the electricity meter - for different reasons

Hi Turbo Turkey. If the car was in the same condition but was a Turbo, so a VX220 Turbo costing £7,900 would you consider that a bargain?

I know you are not being nasty mate - it was a genuine query to see if it was almost a psychological thing or as per my comments above if there were any suggestions to help move the car quickly I am open to constructive criticism  .   With regards to it being on Pistonheads for a while this is the second time I have put it on - I have had a few people comment that they don't want a car that has been heavily modified and not sure what the weather is like with you, but here in Scotland its peeing down and is as miserable as ever so I knew I wouldn't shift too quickly as its not really inspiring weather to be buying a VX. When I first had it on Pistonheads I hadn't found all my original documentation so I only put it back on a couple of days ago once I had all the info and the 2 keys found etc, in the hope that helps the sale along a bit.  But thanks for wishing me good luck  as with this weather I may need it!

It's a tough time to be selling when prospective buyers look out of the window and see the rain. Just ensure you let the interested party experience the soft top, then the hardtop. That should swing them, it really is night and day.

As long as you are not desperate to sell, someone will appear on here and want it at some point. ITBs seem to be lusted after!
