Hi all,

I'm currently looking into trading in my FN2 Type R for an NA VX220 and eyeing up a couple on-line at the moment.

One in particular that i'm looking at looks like its been enthusiast owned at some point and wondering whether anyone knows it.

http://www.autotrade...d97er?logcode=p

Cant make my mind up on a couple of the mods but they're easily changed

Also, being 6ft 2" tall, how cosy can i expect it to be? I looked at buying a mk1 mx5 a couple of years back and had to walk away as i was pretty much looking staright at the top of the windscreen!

You will have no problem seeing out the window or driving with the roof on. If your doing track days you may need to remove the roof to allow room for a helmet.

Got to love the internet! Anything really mate, how long you had it for? How many previous owners it's had? Did you buy it standard? Any body, engine or chassis issues? I've spoken to the chap at the garage and he describes it as being a minter! How accurate is that?

Owned for 2 1/2 years , think it had 3/4 prev owners then me (not unusual for a vx ) it was bought standard

prev owner before me had it for 4 years (and did f all to it except service it) , No engine issues or chassis issues.

The body work is near mint as 60% was resprayed including the front end and sides and rear, the window surround

has also been done but has hair line cracks in it ( I was going to wrap it).

The car won 1st in its class at the last lock park car show, The standard NA wheels it was sold with I havent run

with as I ran with tubby wheels and later with TD's.

Bad stuff, there was an abs fault when you go over bumpy ground (faulty connection), the drivers side seat bolster

needs a repair, the stack binnicle has a crack.

Might be easier to give me a call later it you want , I will pm my mob.

Scott

I think you've just about covered everything there mate cheers although excuse me for being nosey but having looked through your older posts i've noticed you mention a slight overheating/mayo issue as well as losing coolant, was that resolved?

Also, did you sell it with the Gaz Golds on or the standard shocks?

Well I've bought it, I look forward to annoying you all with questions you've no doubt seen asked on here many a time in the past. (joking, I know how to use the search function)

Congratulations. Plenty of handy owners / ex owners locally should you have any questions/issues. However get a V-grill purchased and fix that front end.

I did consider one, although I've heard it makes getting in and out slightly harder?

Only if you need to roll the softtop back to get in otherwise there is no difference. Since your local if there is anything you need doing or need to look at your welcome to see mine etc.

Cheers Chris, I may have to take you up on that offer at some point And Luca, I may need to balance my finances out before I consider spending any more money having just bought the car!

It doesn't make any difference with either roof!
