I don't know about each individual specific after market air filter, BUT if you want good quality filtration (ie filtering small particles) you will be unlikely to improve on an OEM paper filter.
Just try asking any prospective air filter company this: "What size particles does your filter block at 99% or 95% effectiveness; and what testing/evidence do you have to prove it?". When you realise they can't answer that question then you will realise they don't care whether their product works or not, from that you can draw a conclusion...

any air filter that claims a MEASURABLE WHP gain is talking sh*t

Just for ear fun, people drill a few extra holes in the oem airbox. (to hear the air sucked in at WOT).
As said a lot, that or an aftermarket cone filter solution (or cold air intake, or whatever called) will not bring any horsies.
If sold in such a way, it marketology.
Drilling a few hole sin the airbox and getting you hands on a nicely sounding used rear mufler brings afordable fun.
Just don´t focus on horsies too much. That´s a whole other ballgame.

just change the paper ones often as they don't like getting wet

So why do so many people fit piper viper induction kits? They aren't cheap, so what's the justification for it?
People are stupid

Because to many (who spent a lot of time playing gt) think sound = power.....So why do so many people fit piper viper induction kits? They aren't cheap, so what's the justification for it?

I wouldn't buy a car that's had an aftermarket filter installed, and I advise other people to do the same.
After marker filters offer less filtration than standard paper ones, therefore reducing the life of the engine internals.
Paper filters are good for over 400bhp, which means there's no reason (other than stupidity) to use one.

Remember when you were a young kid and put a playing card on the spokes of your bicycle?
Remember how cool that sound was?
Fast forward 20 years, and now having an extremely silent sportscar.
