Would anyone who has actually got one of these recommend it, is it worth the £150 price tag . . . ?

I understand it’s not the sort of thing you do a before and after dyno for so just any intelligent opinions would be welcome!

FYI, I’m currently a VXT stage 2.5, but have got all the bits for stage 4 (for fitment over Christmas).

I have one and imo its worth the £150 or so. It does add airflow and looks nice polished up.apart from that it dont do much else.

Rotating the TB makes sense as well but cars and electrics scare me so i've not done it.

£150 for a 90 degree pipe bend and flange is a lot.

Eliminating the OEM top hat is worth it after "stage 2", but it can be done cheaper...

It'd be 30-50 for the bare casting and probably similar for machining.  Patterning would have been around 300.  Given the volume of production its not that dear but I agree you could do it cheaper.

Those shiny OEM looking engine bays bring back memories.

If the OP wanted to spend £250, you could get a new side firing inlet plenum and dispense with having the a top hat what-so-ever. The performance gain of that would be way more value for money than £150 on a top hat. There is an army guy on the MigWeb site who can fabricate them up to order, can't remember his name at the moment.
